Swiss Summer School 2020: Trends in Organic Synthesis
About: The Swiss Summer Schools date back to the séminaires du 3ième cycle of the 1960ies, then organized by a consortium of universities from the French-speaking area of Switzerland. The Summer Schools, now organized by the Swiss Chemical Society, are open for participants from academia (MSc, PhD, postdoctoral students) and industry. The goal of the Swiss Summer Schools is to showcase advanced topics in organic and inorganic synthesis, presented by leaders in the field from academia and industry, tailored for the young generation chemists.
This Year's Summer School is focused on catalysis and sustainable chemistry and is part of the Trends in Organic Synthesis series of seminars. It covers topics such as novel synthetic routes, digitalization and process engineering.
The team of Summer School Lecturers is built from experts in different areas of catalysis representing different academic institutions (Ben Gurion University, Caltech, Cornell University, ETH Zürich, MPI für Kohleforschung in Mühlhein an der Ruhr, and the University of Bern). In addition, we will have lectures presented by researchers from IBM Research, Merck Sigma Aldrich, Novartis, Siegfried, and Syngenta, illustrating the importance of catalysis and sustainability to industry.
Part of the program will be delivered by the Students in the form of short communications or poster presentations. The lecturers are residing at the conference venue, always accessible for interaction, be in the classroom, on a hike, or at the hotel bar. The best student presenters will be awarded prizes offered by Helvetica Chimica Acta.
The venue is the Eurotel Victoria **** in Villars-sur-Ollon, a great place to hold a seminar with sixty to eighty participants.
REGISTRATION IS SUSPENDED !
The Summer School will take place in Les Diablerets from September 5 to 9, 2021
